He Who Harvests The Night Sky

March 28th, 2009

I guess this one is a play on religious beliefs and the idea of a being who controls the cosmos. Sort of a combination between a cupid, krishna (hence the blue skin), and an average person.

Where The Wild Things Are

March 24th, 2009

One of my favorite childhood story books is now coming to life thanks to Spike Jonze. I am so excited I almost don’t care about summer anymore. I said “almost”. There’s no trailer yet but judging by the photo’s it looks amazing. These are the kind of films I wait for. The monster in this photo also reminds me Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro. Funny how the last two posts both have animal costumes in them.

The Wicker Man

March 16th, 2009

After watching the newer version of The Wicker Man with Nicolas Cage I felt inspired to do a drawing based on the end scene. There was something about a guy dressed in a bear suit running with a gun in one hand and a child in the other that seemed altogether very odd. Which is why I had to draw it.

The Woods (Deer)

A second version of The Woods, only with a deer. Not sure if I like the arrows or not.

Down The Rabbit Hole

March 6th, 2009

I suppose the theme here is the unkown, hence the metaphorical use of a rabbit hole and space matter on the arm. I’ve never really used the moleskin note books to draw in that much but I’m liking them more. They’re small enough to put in your pocket and the paper has weight.
